Curosurf 240mg injection is the surfactant given to premature babies to protect their lungs. Surfactant is natural substance which is made in the lungs of babies in 8th month of pregnancy. It coats the inside or lining of the air sacs in the lungs which makes it easier for the air sacs to expand during breathing. It also prevents the air sacs from collapsing and sticking together when air leaves the lungs.
